In preparation for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer this May, Deannie and I walked a shit load of miles this weekend. 6.5 on Saturday and close to 8 on Sunday. Because of the snow and the traffic intersections we were battling snow banks the entire time -- which SUCKED. The Mt. Vernon bike path is still covered in snow so we were forced to walk on streets with sidewalks. Most of the sidewalks were shoveled, which I think is a law, and some were not. The ones that we shoveled were framed by 3 foot snow banks that we had to crawl over at every intersection. While Saturday's weather was chilly but sunny -- Sunday's weather was miserable. The wind was the worst and it felt like we were walking Mount Everest....This wasn't my favorite weekend of walking. I am anxious for Springtime walking!
Maps of our walks below...
The DARK PURPLE is our Saturday Route and the HOT PINK is our Sunday route.
