First Anniversary: A Hit!

So we've officially made it to our first anniversary as of August 26th. To celebrate we went back to the B&B we got married in for the night. We also had lunch and dinner with Eric's parents who were also staying in Staunton, VA that weekend.

I just learned that each anniversary has a symbol and ours this year is paper.

Check it out:

1st Anniversary Traditional Gift: Paper. It symbolizes the strength in paper that comes from the interlaced connection of the paper's individual threads.

To keep in line with our first anniversary theme I gave Eric, along with a card and some Wustof steak knives, a "Jessica" word search. Yes, it's a genius thought, I know. I used this site to make my Jessica word search. It's fun you should give it a whirl!

Eric gave me a beautiful gold necklace and earring set along with a pillow. I know you're thinking, "A pillow? That's not romantic!" Basically, we each have a memory foam pillow that we got for our wedding. At some point Eric went out and bought this fluffy feather pillow to use. I fell in love with it and kept taking his when he'd get up to go pee in the middle of the night. So he went out and bought me one so I'd not take his from him anymore. I do love the pillow! Although I still have love for my memory foam pillow -- this pillow has also given me great nights of sleep!

I can't believe you just learned that! That's why I asked you if there was a magazine that you both wanted! That's the traditional gift - paper...the contemporary one is -clock.
