Colorado

Last Friday Eric, Liz & I all flew out to Colorado to visit Keelee & Lou. We had a blast!!! Here is the breakdown.

Friday: Me, Eric & Liz arrived at Keelee & Lou’s, in Colorado Springs, around midnight. Me, Liz & Keelee stayed up until 4am drinking wine and talking.

Saturday: Woke up sort of early and went out to breakfast as a group. I drove all 5 of us up Pikes Peak and we took oodles of pictures. (The pictures I will post when we have gathered them from the 3 different digital cameras that we had.) After we came down the mountain we went to The Broadmoor and had cocktails & appetizers on the patio, whilst watching the swans float by (so fancy & a sunny 75!) Later that evening we went to a very fancy steak house for dinner, and then, for after dinner drinks, we went to this really neat underground bar called The Metropolitan.

Sunday: Woke up to 4 inches of snow. I think it's safe to say Eric, Liz and I were really excited about the snow. It was blustery and made for a very wintry scene. Unfortunately, overnight Keelee got the flu and was taken to the hospital by Lou. While they were at the hospital Liz, Eric & I went and drove around all my old digs so I could reminisce on my junior year of high school. It was still snowing outside when we drove out to Manitou Springs, a cozy little town perched on the side of Pikes Peak, and had Irish coffees. That evening Eric and I went to PF Changs for dinner (I’d never eaten there before) and Liz went to dinner at her aunt’s house.

*Keelee & Lou didn’t get back from the hospital until 6pm and she was put on bed rest. While at the hospital they gave her a Cat scan, pumped her with 2 bags of liquids, gave her morphine, and non-barf meds. On Monday she was feeling a little better.*

Monday: Eric, Liz & I woke up early and went to get full body massages at this little place called Massage Envy which is located just down the street from Keelee & Lou’s house. After that the three of us drove back to the Denver airport for our return flights. It was a great trip and I couldn’t have asked for more (well except that I would have asked for Keelee to not have been so sick!!)
