My recently engaged friend Katie celebrated her birthday this past Sunday. Jen, Eric and I threw her a little pizza & champagne party at my house on Sunday night. Monday I took her to tea at The Mayflower. The Mayflower is one of the fanciest historic hotels in DC. Here is an interesting blurb I got from Wikipedia:
Nicknamed the "Grande Dame of Washington" at its opening in 1925, the hotel (the largest hotel in the US Capitol) was said to contain more gold trim than any other building except the Library of Congress.
I hope to take Lizzy to tea when she gets here also. I haven't decided if I'm going to take her to The Mayflower or somewhere else......
