Traveled through 5 States

This weekend Holly, Brodie and I went up north to visit my Cousin Meredith and her family. Meredith has 3 children two of which are young boys who we just knew Brodie would love to play with. I drove while Holly was the navigator and as usual Brodie was the back seat driver.

We did a lot of fun stuff on our trip. Just visiting with family was special enough but it was also neat that at one point or another we drove through parts of 5 different states (Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania) and the District of Columbia too!

On the trip home we stopped at a very small, yet just right for us, state park zoo in Delaware. It was called the Brandywine Zoo. We saw condors, a bob cat, a fox, a very old tiger, some pygmy sheep and a few lamas. Normally the zoo fee is $2 for children and $4 for adults but for whatever reason on Sunday it was free! It was chilly but we survived. The staff was very friendly and they even woke up the very old tiger for us. The tiger was a good spot and did a few laps around the big cage for us. She let out a few noises but then just decided to lay down and rest. I think Brodie enjoyed petting the pygmy goats but it wasn't long before his face was cold and he wanted to head for the car. It was a nice break in the car ride and it must have offered just enough exercise because Brody slept for the last hour of the ride.
