Well, my first thought after reading that old post was, "Oh my GOD things have seriously changed in 4 years." That was the post of a girl writing to her best friend. Definitely not the post of the "today me" writing to the "today Eric". So I thought it would be fun and interesting to do the same type post but a more updated version.....
HAPPY 34TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BEST FRIEND OF 11 YEARS! Even though you're an old man now you're still amazing to me -- even more amazing every day in fact!
Here's to 11 amazing years, 2 good tries, 1 last try that resulted in our marriage. Will Hoge, touching cotton, my a.d.d. your a.d.d., condo selling - twice, house hunting, house buying, house remodeling, your bloody ear, singing "I don't love you anymore" by the Choir Boys, the drum set and the pool table that you were never going to have that you now have anyway, my sleeping in a lot, Caribbean Stud, your room, my room, squirrel for dinner, tons and tons of more grey hairs, and your ear hair....many many concerts, mystery trips, a fabulous honeymoon, an entire bowl of Lucky Charms marshmallows, your parties alone in the basement, sometimes you just need to "crap it out", "wake your ass up", living with your parents twice, 4 months of "throwing caution to the wind", your slip and near deadly fall at Easter Camp, the mouse, the gerbil, the 3 other mice, a bat, the spider, 2 dogs, and now a hamster..., the Movado I now have and love but now I like a different one and last but not least TWO PEAS IN A POD AND ONE ON THE WAY!

Good post. What happened to "pushing cotton"?
Didn't I put that in??? that was supposed to be one of my lines! Damn it!
