Burial at Arlington

A friend of mine passed away earlier this year and his Inurnment was today at Arlington. I didn't know what an Inurnment was until today. The dictionary says it's to place a urn in a tomb and that's just what we did.

Anyway - we're having a bit of a dreary weather day here today but the service was still amazing. The spring flowers are still out and the dog woods and cherry trees are in full bloom. The military did a beautiful job at honoring one of their own and as always I teared up when they folded the flag and Taps was played.

After the flag part of the ceremony we were led to the Columbarium where my friend was placed in his resting spot. It was a really peaceful service and very special. I'm thankful to have been apart of it.

This is the pavillion where the service was held.

This is the Columbarium we walked to after the ceremony to placed my friends ashes.
