My co-worker and friend, Lori, has moved on and resigned. So now I'm not just doing my job but her job too. And in light of the recent economy it doesn't look like they are going to be hiring her replacement. The increase in work has definitely put an upswing to my days! I'm working about 30 minutes to an hour more a day now. My work load has increased significantly. And I'm doing all this with the new Microsoft Office 07 software, which I've nicknamed Microsoft Office 666. It's quite a lovely software, I'm sure, but it's just bad timing as far as having time to learn new things!
Lori's boss, while very nice, is MUCH different than my boss. They work at different speeds. They work off different calendar systems. Her boss has computer skills and my boss does not. I mean....they just couldn't be more different. So I'm doing my mental stretches...learning to be more flexible! I have to admit, I do like the challenge though.
Of course this all happens just 2 mos shy of me leaving for maternity leave. Initially Lori was going to cover me while I was out but now she's gone! So I've added, "Figure Out Maternity Coverage" to my new list of tasks! I'm really hoping I can take a laptop home with me when I go on break so I can at least be helpful in some way.

Trust me you wont think of work once your holding your little miracle! You will cringe when you think of work, because you will just not want to imagine being back there, while soeone else is watching your baby :) I say no to the laptop!
Oh no! Can they get a temp?
Still not sure of the plan!
That really sucks. You should tell Eric you want to be a stay at home mom. :)
