The Changeling

I really thought this movie was going to be sad and that I'd walk away crying so hard you'd have thought I just finished watching Roots -- but it wasn't. It was aggravating! Don't get me wrong -- I liked the movie -- but I so busy being floored at how sexist the world was in the 1920's and beyond that I my body refused to cry.

Throughout the entire movie the men talk down to the women like they're doggie poo. I wanted to throw my lime flavored Popsicle at the TV and scream, "GRAB THAT MAN BY THE NECK AND SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!" Eric confirmed for me this morning (we discussed the movie in more depth while getting ready for work) that I'm just not much of a lady and that's why I would have reacted that way. Lady or no lady -- ya refuse to look for MY MISSING KID and then lock me up in a mental institution for calling you on it -- SOMEONE is going to pay.

And this is Warrior Jess:

I do like Angelina Jolie's line near the end where she tells the hospital administrator, "Fuck you and the horse you rode in on." Kinda cheesy but by the time she gets there you're so relieved she actually stood up for herself that you could kiss the TV screen.

I really wanted to see it, but then I think I saw too many previews on Movies on Demand, and then didn't want to anymore.
