This week is the first week of Carly's new preschool program. She's in the 2 year old class at a local church preschool. Right now we have her in only two days a week. If we can ever conceive baby #2 -- we'll probably put her in a few more days a week to give Eric's Mom a break. But the class is only from 9am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Day one drop off was so-so. Elaine dropped her off and kind of dipped out while Carly was distracted. The teachers said she cried for a while when she figured out that Grandma left but was fine after that. Then she cried with joy when Elaine picked her up that day.
Day two drop off was sad for Daddy. Eric dropped her off this time and she cried for him and held out her arms. *sniff*sniff* But by the time he'd come back to drop off her lunch (15-20 min later) she was fine when he peaked through the door. When they (Eric and Elaine) came to pick her up from school that day she was calmly sitting and reading a book. She was excited to see Daddy and Grandma there but didn't cry.
After only two days of school she has a cold! Poor thing! She's a little congested and has a tiny cough. So far it doesn't seem to be too bad but I know how frustrating a cold can be for me and I'm sure it's going to be a mess for her. I knew preschool would bring germs but I just thought it would take a little more time. Picking up a cold on the first day of school is impressive if you ask me! I guess that's why they have everyone bring a box of tissues. I'm sure they'll be wiping lots of noses throughout the year!
Elaine took some pictures of Carly's first day. I will post them soon!
