Sleet!

For the last 4 days we've been buried under a pile of hard white sleet. It looks like 4" snow but it's not. It's ice. It's as hard as concrete. Today I went over to a friends house to deliver a package and their whole yard was shiny with this fake-out snow. I slid from one end of the yard to the other. Fun!

On the way to work this morning a 4'X3' sheet of ice flew off the top of an SUV and came twirling in the air towards Eric's windshield. He swerved to avoid getting killed by the giant ice cap and in doing so - wrecked his car. He crossed 4 lanes of traffic and hit the guard rail. CAN YOU SAY -- SCARY?! He's fine but pissed off. The car is at the auto body shop and Eric is driving a rental. The insurance company gave Eric the blame saying that because he swerved to avoid being killed by the icecap it's technically his fault. ( TECHNICALLY if he didn't swerve he could have been decapitated -- and thus it probably wouldn't have been his fault -- but no.... )Regardless of the possibility of higher insurance rates -- I think that having my husband home safe after a high speed wrestling match with an ice cap -- we came out on top.

Walking 7.5 miles tomorrow!
