Do you remember the bowls (below) that nearly caused a divorce before Eric and I were even married? How hard I fought for these bowls? Well, the bowl has hit the fan! (I tried to find an old post about the bowl argument but was unsuccessful. I find it hard to believe - but maybe I didn't post about this fight because it was such a sensitive issue way back when.) For those of you who don't know the story I'll give you some back ground.

Back in 2006 when we were picking out items for our registry I was dead set on getting this certain set of dishes. Wasabi Fusion is think is what they're called. Anyway -- Eric liked the set, sort of, except for the style of the bowls and mugs. His argument was that there was a huge spill factor involved. The bowls and mugs are designed to spill. They are, in fact, "spout like" and designed to fail. Designed to stain carpet. I on the other hand thought nothing of it. So they're a little different?! Who cares! We don't have kids yet and we, as mature adults, can handle a modern bowl, right? Wrong.
Eric has spilled his cereal several times since 2006 which leads to him cursing up a storm and me laughing. Every time it happens I get a big fat "I told you so!" And I have to admit - I DO see the problem. I hate, even more, the mugs. I served coffee in them at our dinner party on Saturday and, without knowing the story behind them, guests mocked me for choosing a mug with such bizarre design.
Luckily, Wal-Mart sells a much more sensible style bowl and mug that, believe it or not, does match our current set without actually being made by the same company. So I'm selling the bad bowl and mug on Craigslist. We bought the Wal-Mart bowls this weekend and we love them!
