Wilco and More

Obviously yesterday was a trying day for me -- what with the frustrating news about the condo and all. After work I dragged my butt over to Holly & Brodie's to get some hugs and love (and dinner). When I got there Holly and Brodie were upstairs changing out of work clothes so Brodie called down to me, "Jed-ee-ka! I'm upstairs!" Up I went and plopped myself on the bed. Resting my head on a pillow, I said, "Oh, it's been suuuch a long day!" The next thing I know, Brodie grabs one of the other pillows, sets it next to me, plops down on it and says to Holly, "I've had such a looong day, Mommy" It was SO CUTE and brought a big smile to my face.

Later in the evening I went to a Wilco concert with Eric and some friends from work. I'm not a Wilco fan, exactly. I hadn't even heard of them until yesterday when I was given 2 "prep CDs" to listen to. The tickets and the CDs came from someone I work with. Someone who LOVES Wilco and wanted to share that love with us. Needless to say I was entertained at the concert but more than that -- I was amazed at their following. It was a sold out show and the venue was stuffed full of sweaty fans. I couldn't even see the band. They played for 2 hours and this dedicated crowd was in a Wilco Induced Trance for the entire 2 hours. I probably wouldn't go to another show since I'm not all that in to them but I give props to the true fans out there who don't mind standing amongst the sweaty masses to get their Wilco groove on.
